Great idea.

Is the current beta still v.

Why not simply use Control-Shift-a and control-shift-n?

Actually select all and deselect all is build in as a hidden feature (holding ctrl and shift and typing A L L selects all, and typing N O N E deselects all)

I prefer it as a hidden feature, as one should generally review what one is about to remove ;)

I am having some problems with this feature.  When I hold down ctrl and shift and type ALL, nothing happens.  I keep trying and trying, then it finally works after a dozen or so attempts.  I think that I am doing it correctly.  Is anyone else having problems with this?  Are there any tips on how to do it so that it works right off?

I got a response from jv16 Power Tools.  They will correct this problem in their next upgrade which will probably be released in Dec 2009.

I am wondering when v. 2.5 is going to be non-beta.

I want to make a suggestion on this issue about the word "analyze".  I am wondering if "Monitor Installation" would be clearer.  Then you could have a list of "Monitored Programs".

jv16 Power Tools will identify the ZU uninstall log files in their History Cleaner (paid version) or their all-in-one Cleaner (Lite version).  If the ZU logs are not excluded, they will be removed.  As a fix, "zsoft" can be placed on their "Ignore List".

I have used other cleaners such as CCleaner and PureRA which do not identify ZU logs for removal.

I have posted this problem on the jv16 PT forum.

I am wondering if there is anything that ZU can do to reduce the chances of a cleaner from removing the logs.  Maybe, they could be call something other than "logs".

Well, the removal from the add/remove applet (as well as the main zsoft uninstaller (ZU) screen) should (as always) be carried out by the actual uninstaller (i.e. the program you run when choosing uninstall from either ZU or the applet).

If it isn't gone, the Post Uninstall feature in ZU should be able to remove it (and other leftovers), and you can also choose to right-click on the item and select 'Delete'.

The normal uninstall-executing-routine hasn't changed from v2.4.x to v2.5.

The program was removed from the ZU list of installed programs, however, the program remained in the Windows "Add or Remove Programs" list.  I clicked on the program there and it said the program was inaccessible and did I want to remove it from the list, so I got it removed that way.

I uninstall several apps with the new 2.5 beta.  The uninstall went ok but the items were not removed from Add/Remove Programs.

I have v. 2.41 installed on my computer and have used it to analyze many installed apps.  I want to upgrade to v. 2.5 beta.  I am wondering how best to install the new version and maintain my analyzed apps.

Can I install the current build of v. 2.5 beta on top of the v. 2.41?  Will this preserve my analyzed installed apps so I can still use zu to uninstall?

Thanks for the help.

I have been having problems uninstalling AOL Canada after analysing the installation.  ZU starts the uninstall, then stops for about 10-15 mins., then resumes and finishes.   It usually stops on files related to RealPlayer which is part of the AOL installlation.  While it stops, task manager says it is "not responding" and the title bar of ZU says "not responding".   I am not on a network.   I am running XPsp3.
