News (no longer used) / Uninstaller v2.1.2
« on: May 16, 2005, 03:20:49 PM »
As promised (a long time ago, sry), I would make a new version once I was back in Windows. I'm back in Windows, and I'm making a new minor version :).

The "only" new thing in this release is 2 (one and a half actually) new in-program languages :).
Frensh, translated by Laurent Hadjadj, and (partially) Dutch, translated by computerNERDie.

Thank you!

News (no longer used) / Possible email SCAM
« on: May 03, 2005, 01:27:21 PM »

Today I received a couple of viruses via email. What I also got was a "Mail Delivery failed" message that suggests that I should have sent a mail to someone with the text "ok ok ok,,,,, here is it" and an attachment named "" probably containing a virus.
If you receive one, delete it, don't open it. I'm not the one sending it.

Let it also be known, that as I am running Linux atm it is not possible that a windows-virus have infected my system and is sending these things out...

The content of the zip files I received was a file called "Winzipped-Text_Data.txt           .exe" and is according to Kaspersky Lab the virus "Email-Worm.Win32.Sober.p"

News (no longer used) / Uninstaller Version
« on: April 09, 2005, 02:26:15 PM »
Uninstaller Version hits the street :)

Version offers a big speed improvement in the install analyzer feature and includes Bulgarian, Danish, English, French, German, Norwegian, Spanish and Swedish as install language - the program itself is however still only Danish and English.
This version is dedicated to Pope John Paul II.

News (no longer used) / Bug fixed in Uninstaller
« on: March 24, 2005, 01:39:58 PM »
I found a bug in Uninstaller 2.1 that resultet in binary values in the registry not getting deleted upon "analyzed uninstallation".
If you haven't uninstalled yet, or you still have the log file you should be good as it didn't have anything to do with the analyze and compare engine.
If you use 2.1 you should upgrade.

Sorry about this.

News (no longer used) / 2.1 Arrives
« on: March 23, 2005, 06:58:11 PM »
ZSoft Uninstaller 2.1 *BETA* have arrived. This new version includes a new feature: "Install Analyzer" - something that analyzes you computer before and after an installation, compares it and saves result so that you can completley uninstall the program when you wish...
If you find any errors in this version please post them in the forum or drop me a mail.

Thank you!

News (no longer used) / Uninstaller 2.0 is not going final... ever!
« on: March 19, 2005, 08:18:57 PM »
Yup. There is newer going to come a "final" version of ZSoft Uninstaller 2.0.
The reason for this is simply that I have not found any bugs my self, it seems stable, and I haven't recieved any reports on strange behaviers either.

Whats going to happen then, you might ask.
First of all, development have not been stopped!
It's just that to develop you either have to add new features or correct bugs, and since the later is out (see in top of this message), it's the former that count. And I don't feel you can start you can add new features between a beta and a final, so the next version is going to be 2.1 *BETA*, something I hope I can release within the end of this month.

The new thing in this release is going to be a "install-monitor" thingy (haven't desided what to name it yet). What this does is that it dumps the registry and a list of files before and after you install an application - off couse you need to say "I'm going to install an application now" and "Done" ;o)

The program will then compare the two different dumps and save the changes. Then when you deside to uninstall (and, if any, have run the real uninstall program first) you can delete 'leftovers' in the registry and on the harddrive(s). Sometimes this would be a waste of time, but then some other times this would be a good practise sinse some uninstallers just don't delete it all...

As always, if you have any comments at all, feel free to post them in the forum.

PS: If theres spelling and/or grammar errors in this (I guess there is) is becouse I'm to lazzy to run this through a spell checker...

News (no longer used) / A little statistics and a little something else
« on: February 24, 2005, 05:26:22 PM »
Here we go :)
My ZSoft Uninstaller 2.0 program is listed on 5 sites that I know of - and I only added it at 3 of them; this is really cool for me :D
According to both Google and the statistics coming with my web-hotel this site generates about 50 unique hits a day - this may not be all that much, but I think it's great! This is by far the most successful thing I've ever done by myself. Thank you everyone :)

Now, my statistics also shows that 54.6% of you visitors uses Internet Explorer, and only 35.1% uses FireFox. There are more ppl using FireFox here than if you took the whole web, which is positive, but still IE dominates... People using IE: Give FireFox a try - you wont be sorry :D
Also, 1.1% (of the FireFox users) uses a version other that 1.0 - you should really update ;)
Both IE users and FireFox users using a old version can download the newest version of FireFox over at

Now a little 'please'.
I know that this is a relatively new page and that 50 unique hits might not be all that much, but I'm starting to feel lonely on the forum, and I'm also kind of running out of ideas to new features to my programs.
PLEASE, if you have the time and the idea post it on the forum! You find a link for it in the top.

Oh, also I recently received an email from a Spanish guy asking for permission to add my uninstall utility to a CD coming with the PC-magazine "PC Today" (in Spain). I don?t know if it was a prank or it is the real deal, but I naturally gave him my permission. He said it would be in PC Today's issue number 115 (should be shipped March 15th) ? if there's any Spanish guys out there (after March 15th) that can confirm that the app was actually on the CD or that it was not it would be nice. Thank you!

Call this it for this time, shall we? :)
