I've noticed (and fixed) a small bug that made it always look in the current user part of the registry when looking for the 'DisplayIcon' string... (looked the right place for 'DisplayIconEx' though)...

Is the current build of v. 2.5 betat stable and safe for a novice user?

Or, would it be better to stay with v. 2.41?

The v2.5 beta is an improvement over v2.4.1... some of the new features might need some polishing, but it should generally be safe... (but, as always, don't delete stuff if your not sure what you're doing!)

I have v. 2.41 installed on my computer and have used it to analyze many installed apps. I want to upgrade to v. 2.5 beta. I am wondering how best to install the new version and maintain my analyzed apps.

Can I install the current build of v. 2.5 beta on top of the v. 2.41? Will this preserve my analyzed installed apps so I can still use zu to uninstall?

Yeah... The v2.5 beta is rar file, that is you have to unpack it... you then just unpack it on top of v2.4.1 (or unpack it and copy-paste the unpacked files on top of v2.4.1) and that should be it.

Build 80 uploaded... If you create a file called 'settings.ini' it will go into portable mode, and load&save all it's settings to/from that file... (You will need to cleanup the registry (if you already use the non-portable version) yourself though... (delete 'HKLM\Software\ZSoft'))

thanks for the great program. Version 2.5 will be a treat.

I wanted to help by reporting 2 bugs:

1.) I cannot see the "Next" button on the post uninstall scan window (same for badware searcher window). Maximizing or increasing size does not help either.

2.) Badware finder wrongly reports find of PC MightyMax in the entry for respectable Octoshape plugin.

Another Bug:

TempFile Finder wrongly identifies libsoftokn3.chk, softokn3.chk, and freebl3.chk as temp files, though they are necessary Mozilla components (Firefox and Thunderbird for sure, maybe more).
